Calling all developers, students, hackers and other creative minds: It’s time to unleash your entrepreneurial potential…but this time in SPACE!
International Space Hackathon ActInSpace is landing in Australia for the very first time on 25 - 26 May 2018.
ActInSpace is a global space competition encouraging students, developers, entrepreneurs and space enthusiasts to join together to work on real life challenges using space technologies and data. For 24 hours, participants will work together in teams of 2-5, alongside business mentors and technical experts to design, improve or develop innovative applications to support the space industry in Australia and beyond.
Led internationally by the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) and the European Space Agency ESA, both the University of South Australia and the South Australian Government, have partnered together to bring ActInSpace to Australia in 2018.
ActInSpace will run simultaneously in 70 cities from over 20 countries around the world, including the United States, United States, Canada, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, Turkey, Germany, Morocco, UK and Sweden. Adelaide will be the first and only city to host ActInSpace in Australia in 2018.
The competition will be hosted here at the Innovation & Collaboration Centre in the brand new $247 million UniSA Cancer Research Institute set to open in May 2018!
The first place team in Australia will WIN flights and accommodation to France to compete in the International ActInSpace Finals at the Toulouse Space Show in June 2018 valued at $10,000.
The international first prize for ActInSpace 2018 is a flight in zero gravity in the training aircraft for Novespace astronauts.
