More info:
Over 24-hours, teams will work on real-world challenges using space technology or data. No prior knowledge of space or data is necessary. You will arrive on Friday afternoon at the ICC, get into a team and start working on a challenge. You will work overnight and then pitch your idea to a panel of space industry experts for your chance to win!
The winners of the Adelaide event will be crowned national Australian winners and compete in the international finals with the global winners experiencing zero-gravity flight experience.
In 2018, a team from the UniSA hosted competition beat 32 countries and 70+ cities to take home the grand prize. Do we have what it takes to win again?
Free to register with all meals over the 24-hour hackathon included, not bad for the chance to win a trip to France.
Check back in the coming months to see the Australian event sponsors and meet your mentors.
Please note - all participants must now be aged 18 years or over at the time of the event.
Hear from prevous winners:
"ActInSpace was a great startup ‘simulator’ that highlighted what it was like to work in a small team solving a big challenge (and on very little sleep!). I quickly realised it was the environment I love most, and I was able to test my abilities as a project and technical manager when solving our particular challenge. It also helped to introduce some of the key members of the SA space industry that are now close colleagues at my space startup!”
Harrison Box, Paladin Space, Runner Up ActInSpace Australia 2022.
“ActInSpace gave us the foundation to get our team together, identify a problem, build a concept and pitch our vision to a huge international audience - it changed everything for us. ActInSpace gave us the confidence that we could take our vision, build an idea from concept and potentially disrupt an entire industry. The competition gave us exposure, networks, support, and broke downthe barriers to help us validate and test what we were working on.”
