The Innovation & Collaboration Centre is home to Venture Catalyst and the state's first space incubator program Venture Catalyst Space. These programs are designed to help founders start their business.

Dan Demaria is the founder, CEO and Chief Brand Officer of brand consultancy Brand Nexus. Dan loves innovation and has spent his career working with ideas. He is also an “on-demand” CMO and Chief Brand Officer that businesses can access on an as-needs basis. This concept is also known as a “Fractional CMO” which is growing in popularity in the US and the start-up world. Dan has spent his 33-year career developing strategy and ideas for brands, first in multinational advertising agencies in Sydney, Hong Kong and Adelaide, and then as a Chief Marketing Officer at Thoroughbred Racing SA and News Corp Australia. Dan believes innovation is the strongest way a business can develop a competitive advantage.
Lalena King uses consumer insights and creativity to build brands that connect and create commercial value. She has worked with major Australian companies like OTR, Target, ANZ and 7-Eleven. Lalena is experienced in scratch building and brand repositioning to create clear and unique value propositions that drive sales and long term equity. Among Lalena's career highlights is her transformation and management of 7-Eleven's Slurpee beverage business. She developed the strategy, brand, communication, product, and promotion while working with manufacturing partner Coca-Cola Amatil. Lalena is now Health Partner's Marketing & Sales General Manager. She is also the co- founder of skincare startup BEAUTI-FLTR SPF.
Professor John Dawes is a senior researcher and associate director at UniSA's Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science. Professor Dawes specialises in pricing, repeat-purchase behaviour and brand metrics. He conducts contract research for industry partners, including multinational corporations PepsiCo, Mars Incorporated, Unilever, and HSBC. Professor Dawes' research has been published in top marketing journals like the Journal of Business Research and Journal of Retailing. He is the author of Marketing Planning & Strategy, which closely examines marketing issues using real-life case studies, including UK startup Starling Bank. Professor Dawes also works with SMEs at UniSA's Marketing Clinic.
And our host and UX strategist Melissa Cooper. Melissa helps organisations adopt a customer-centric approach to strategic product decision making and the implementation of customer experiences. Her expertise expands across customer research, innovation and solution design. Melissa's 15-year career has taken her to San Francisco, Sydney and back to Adelaide, working with companies like Eventbrite, Domain, the Sydney Morning Herald and the ABC. She is passionate about helping business success and creating products that customers love.
