Programs
The Innovation & Collaboration Centre is home to Venture Catalyst and the state's first space incubator program Venture Catalyst Space. These programs are designed to help founders start their business.
As the end of the year approaches it has been great to look back on the outstanding achievements that have not only been reached by our team internally but our incredible startups and alum.
This year we have had seven startups graduate from the Venture Catalyst Space 2023 program and another nine startups start their ICC journey across our various programs. We have been a part of great local developments in the space industry within Australia and also travelled to India and Baku, Azerbaijan.
As our office now closes for 2023 we look forward to what is ahead for 2024 and to see what our community can do. We hope that you can take this holiday season to enjoy some well deserved downtime. The ICC office will be shut from today, Friday 22nd December and reopening Tuesday 2 January 2024.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the ICC team!
ResearchSat and Cambrian Executive have teamed up to help simplify access for businesses and organisations, by opening new pathways to space, enabling local and international organisations to benefit from the opportunities available in microgravity research.
RaviTeja Duggineni, ResearchSat Chief Executive Officer said that the new collaborative teaming would help build on previous stratospheric and sub-orbital missions with microbial payloads, saying “We’re excited to be working with Cambrian Executive to accelerate and expand access to microgravity research”
The Andy Thomas Space Foundation proudly presented the First Australian Space Week earlier this month. As part of this the ICC team along with other members of UniSA attended the 16th Australian Space Forum. It was a delight to be at this event which showcased some of the industry's best technologies, innovations and educational developments through a range of events, workshops and experiences.
Thank you to everyone who came to visit us during our time at the forum.
Earlier this month we were privileged to have HWL Ebsworth come to the ICC to talk about all things legal with our startups. They covered the ins and outs of database ownership, service agreements around software platform use, privacy principles, and T&Cs and warranties for customers.
A $10 million manufacturing treasure chest has been unveiled at UniSA with the official opening of the Precision Engineering Centre, showcasing new advanced optics capabilities that will transform a range of industries.
The centre – housing lab-on-a-chip technology, micro and nano-machining equipment, advanced sensing and state-of-the-art precision optics capabilities and expertise – is the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, placing Australia at the forefront of advanced manufacturing.
Congratulations to Hairy As founder, Daryl McMahon and his team for their UniSA Unstoppable Award in the Enterprising Staff Awards Stream - Enterprise Engagement and Partnering. When he's not promoting societal beard love through his social enterprise, Hairy As, he's organising student internships for UniSA.
The ICC team was also proud to be part collective team at the Enterprise Hub to take out the One Team Award, in not one but two categories. A real achievement and testament to what we offer our startups.
Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and join us for the ICC Christmas Party to celebrate the end of a sensational year. The company was great, food was delectable, Christmas music was in full swing and the stealing santa presents were...memorable.
