Programs
The Innovation & Collaboration Centre is home to Venture Catalyst and the state's first space incubator program Venture Catalyst Space. These programs are designed to help founders start their business.
November is out, and December is here (along with some much-needed sun and warmth).
Check out our news from this month. We're pretty proud of our community!
The ICC once again brought the international competition, ActInSpace, to Australia! A group of Adelaide entrepreneurs devised a winning solution for the early detection of earthquakes. Other disruptive ideas also explored the safe settlement of humans on the moon, and mitigating and removing space debris. Congratulations to the winning team, ThincSpace, who will now travel to France to represent Australian space talent on the world stage.
Venture Catalyst graduate Mobius Farms has had a stellar month of PR, with more than 130 news outlets publishing articles about the startup. The Canberra Times, Daily Mail Australia and the ABC all featured the innovative sustainable practises of Mobius, and its co-founder Jeannine Malcolm. The startup is organically turning food waste into fertiliser with black soldier larvae.
The Optus and MediBank cyber attacks have rocked Australian businesses and citizens. So, how should the cyber security industry respond? Our very own cyber safety startup, StarkNEX, has been highlighted as one of the commerical companies working to mitigate the increasing frequency (and sophistication) of cyber attacks. Congratulations to founder, Usayd Marikar for this industry recognition.
The Southern Angels, which provides seed funding for South Australian startup companies, is celebrating a record year with strong momentum for investments and membership. ICC startup alumni Licorice and Ping Services are among those listed as key startups within the investment group's portfolio.
We have recieved fantastic interest for our flagship commerical space program, with startups from across the world submitting their applications. The selection progress has begun, and we will publicly announce our new space cadets early next year. Are you someone who missed out on the 2023 application period? Get ahead of the pack and submit an EOI for 2024.
“The most important things you need to do to make your startup successful are not on your task list or in your inbox.”

“Don’t compare yourself to the superhumans who started the latest and greatest tech wonder companies. It will only discourage you. Learn from them, but be thankful that you have what it takes”
– Terry Gold, Entrepreneur in Residence 2019
“Who you hire is more important than what you sell.”
– Terry Gold, Entrepreneur in Residence 2019
“Having lots of things on your task list means you have the opportunity to choose what is most important that only you can do. If it isn’t important, why is it on your task list?”
