TABOO's Red & Pink Fundraiser

On the 3rd of August, ICC Resident and Startup Weekend winner, TABOO Sanitary Products, held their first fundraiser at The Havelock Hotel. ‘The Red & Pink Fundraiser’ involved silent auctions, food, drinks and a presentation outlining TABOO’s journey so far, it’s mission and future plans.

TABOO is a newly launched social enterprise existing to sell and distribute sanitary products around Australia, with all profits used to provide sustainable sanitary care to women in the Developing World.

The fundraising night marked the beginning of a season devoted to raising funds for the first order of TABOO branded sanitary products. With a total of $7,176.10 raised, and some amazing promotional opportunities presenting themselves in the process, the night was certainly a success.

The team at TABOO were overwhelmed with the support they received. Approximately 140 guests arrived and 31 silent auction items were donated. Individuals financially donated very generously while others demonstrated their support through social media. All auction items were donated by local SA businesses and artists which added to the community focus of the event. Since the event, TABOO merchandise has become available online at tabooau.co and people have signed up as TABOO ambassadors, joining the team to raise enough funds for the first order of Sanitary Products.
